MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs Scenarios

Week 24 has multiple playoffs, division-clinching, and conference-clinching scenarios while several clubs will fight to keep their playoff hopes alive. We broke them down by conference below:

Eastern Conference

Clinches the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference with:

1. A win in regulation, shootout win, or shootout loss
2. A loss in regulation AND Toronto FC II loss in regulation, shootout win or shootout loss.

Can be eliminated from playoff contention with:

1. A loss in regulation or shootout loss OR
2. A shootout win AND one of the following:

• A Rochester New York FC win regulation, shootout win, or shootout loss
• An Inter Miami II win in regulation, shootout win, or shootout loss OR

A win in regulation and two of the following:

• A Philadelphia Union II win in regulation, shootout win, or shootout loss
• A Rochester New York FC win in regulation or shootout win
• An Inter Miami win in regulation

Can be eliminated from playoff contention with:

1. A loss in regulation or shootout loss OR
2. A shootout win AND one of the following:

• A Rochester New York FC win regulation, shootout win, or shootout loss
• An Inter Miami II win in regulation, shootout win, or shootout loss OR

A win in regulation and two of the following:

• A Philadelphia Union II win in regulation, shootout win, or shootout loss
• A Rochester New York FC win in regulation or shootout win
• An Inter Miami win in regulation

Western Conference

Clinches the Frontier Division with:

1. A win in regulation or shootout win

Clinches a spot in the playoffs with:

1. A win in regulation, shootout win, or shootout loss OR
2. A loss in regulation AND an Earthquakes II loss in regulation, shootout win, or shootout loss

Clinches a spot in the playoffs with:

1. A win in regulation, AND an Earthquakes II loss in regulation, shootout win, or shootout loss
2. A shootout win AND Earthquakes II loss in regulation or shootout loss
3. A shootout loss AND Earthquakes II loss in regulation

Can be eliminated from playoff contention with:

1. A loss in regulation AND a North Texas SC win in regulation, shootout win, or shootout loss
2. A shootout win AND a North Texas SC win in regulation
3. A shootout loss AND a North Texas SC win in regulation or shootout win

Can be eliminated from playoff contention with:

1. A loss in regulation, shootout win, or shootout loss
